Platt-Springs-GatorBiologists with the Forest and Wildlife Group typically capture between three and five alligators per summer as well as remove several dead animals periodically. Most of these alligators are removed from the midlands of South Carolina although we have captured them further south. The Midlands are generally rare in the midstate but the midlands are in the upper most range of the alligator populations in South Carolina.

This 9-foot gator was removed from a neighborhood pond off Platt Springs Road.
